App, smart home and security

You control the hall from an app on your phone and on your computer. You can also set the court lights and the hall temperature from Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings or by voice. And none of it bypasses the safeguards held by the controller in the switchboard.

An app without an app store

Don’t look for AERDOMA in the App Store or Google Play. It is a web app (PWA): it opens in the browser and with one tap you add it to your home screen — from then on it looks and behaves like an ordinary app.

One app runs on iPhone, Android and the computer. Everyone gets a new version at once and immediately, with no store approval and without you having to update anything. On the home screen it takes a fraction of the space of an ordinary app.

Mobile ticket with a QR code: hall name, date, time and court, below the code the line that it opens the door even without internet
A screen from the AERDOMA application. The data comes from the controller simulator, not from a hall in service.
  • Dispatch for the hall manager

Hall status, pressure, temperature, courts and lights, alarms, schedules, energy and reports. A command from the app passes the same checks as a command from the panel in the hall.

  • App for the player

Court booking and a ticket with a QR code. The ticket is stored on the phone and opens the door even without signal. The app offers to add it to the home screen only after the first booking — until then it has nothing to offer.

  • Alarms to your phone

When the hall reports a fault, the manager and the service team receive it as a notification on their phone, even when the app is closed. Anyone who has not set anything up still receives alarms — silence is not the default. E-mail goes alongside as a second channel.

How to add it to your home screen

  1. iPhone and iPad: open the app in Safari, tap Share and choose “Add to Home Screen”. On iPhone, notifications reach only an app added to the home screen — which is why the app reminds you itself.
  2. Android: in Chrome, tap “Install app” in the menu or in the bar that appears on its own.
  3. Computer: in Chrome or Edge, click the install icon in the address bar. The app opens in its own window.

The app’s language is the same as the device’s language — the same fifteen languages as this website.

Apple Home, Siri, Google Home, Alexa and SmartThings

The court lights and the hall temperature can sit alongside your other devices in the Home app, Google Home, Alexa or SmartThings and be controlled by voice. All of them are ready; which ones a hall uses is set for each hall separately. It is not a replacement for the dispatch, it is extra convenience.

  • Apple Home

    Available

Each court appears in the Home app as a light and the hall as a thermometer — or a thermostat, if the manager allows the key temperature and heating too. You control them with a tile, by voice (“Hey Siri, turn on the lights in the hall”) or with an automation. The AERDOMA bridge runs on the hall’s network; control from outside the hall is provided by a home hub — an Apple TV or HomePod in the hall. The lights are verified on the hall in Klaipėda.

  • Shortcuts and Siri — no bridge

    Available

Four ready-made shortcuts to download from the app: court on, court off, hall status and set temperature — the last one only with temperature permission. Hall status also shows the pressure. The shortcut’s name is the command for Siri. They need nothing in the hall, just internet on the phone. They have no tile in the Home app, but an automation can run them too.

  • Google Home and Android

    In development

A direct connection with Google — no bridge and no device in the hall. The manager links AERDOMA in Google Home, signs in and chooses the hall; the courts appear as lights and the hall as a thermostat, on Android and on iPhone. The connection is finished and tested in our own tests, not yet with Google — hence the “In development” label.

  • Alexa and SmartThings

    In development

A direct connection from the cloud, just as with Google — no bridge and no Echo or SmartThings hub in the hall. The manager links AERDOMA in the Alexa or SmartThings app, signs in and chooses the hall; the courts appear as lights and the hall as a thermostat. For a hall that wants to control the home without internet too, a Matter bridge is ready. The connection is tested in our own tests, not yet with Amazon and Samsung — hence the “In development” label.

The pressure that keeps the hall up cannot be set from the Home app, Google Home, Alexa or SmartThings — cloud services do not even get it for reading. Ventilation and protections are controlled from the dispatch, where you can see what a command will cause.

What happens when you say “turn on the court”

  1. The manager issues a key for Apple Home in the app (Administration → People and contacts) and ticks whether the key may also control temperature and heating. The key belongs to them and to one hall, and it is shown only once. Google Home requests the same key on its own when the account is linked.
  2. The bridge runs with this key on the hall’s network — on the industrial computer in the switchboard or on a small computer next to it — and appears in the Home app as one accessory with a light for each court.
  3. A command from the Home app or from Siri goes through the AERDOMA cloud by the same route as a command from the dispatch, and with the same checks.
  4. The controller in the hall verifies it once more and switches the light on. The Home app shows “on” only once the hall confirms — when it does not answer, it says “Not Responding”, not “off”.
  5. The manager’s name is written to the event log with the note “Apple Home”. Anyone whose role in the hall is removed also loses the key.

How it is secured

The hall’s safety does not rest on nobody getting into the app. It rests on the fact that even a command from the app does not get past the safeguards of the controller and the hardware.

  • The hall has the last word

Every command — from the dispatch, from the Home app or from Siri — is checked first by the cloud and then again by the controller in the switchboard. Hardware protections, such as the emergency pressure switch and the safety thermostat, work even when the software is not running.

  • The hall does not need the internet

The controller runs the hall locally. An internet or cloud outage does not mean a hall outage — control carries on and tickets at the door remain valid.

  • Nothing opens into the hall from outside

The hall connects outwards on its own, encrypted via MQTT over TLS with a mutual certificate. The local interface in the hall is read-only — changes go exclusively through the app, which checks and records them.

  • Sign-in

Optional two-step verification with a code from an app on your phone. The number of sign-in attempts is limited per account, so the password cannot be guessed and the response does not reveal who has an account with us.

  • Everyone sees only their own hall

Rights are assigned by hall and by role — owner, manager, hall manufacturer, player. Removing a role takes effect immediately — for the app, Apple Home and Google Home.

  • A record of every command

Who, when and what: every command and every refusal goes to the event log — in the cloud and in the controller, in the same form.

  • Keys and tickets only as a fingerprint

We do not hold the Apple Home and Google Home keys or the QR ticket on the server — only their fingerprint (SHA-256) is stored. That is why they are shown only once and a cancelled ticket stops opening the door.

  • Notifications without content

A push to the phone is just an empty “nudge”. The app requests the alarm text from us only afterwards, so it does not pass through Apple or Google servers.

  • Your payment card never reaches us

The customer enters the card directly with the payment gateway. And payment never controls the door — a payment gateway outage leaves nobody standing outside the hall.

  • A server behind a gateway

The app runs exclusively over HTTPS behind the Cloudflare gateway, and the server accepts only connections verified by its certificate. Responses carry security headers and the dispatch cannot be embedded in someone else’s page.
